2013 Shields Fleet

This season represents an expected re-birth of sorts for the Sonar Fleet. The once dominant fleet is now poised to re-assert itself in putting several boats on the line every Sunday. The Shields and Fish class also welcome the season with renewed optimism, hoping to build upon the established success of increased participation of recent years.

It has been said that the health of the Club is most commonly reflected in the membership participation in its Fleet Racing. If you have any interest in crewing or helming a boat on Sundays, don’t be shy and please reach out to any one of the Fleet Captains to point you in the right direction or, they may simply grab you and put you on their own boats. No experience is required. All levels are welcome even if your participation can only be limited. For those who have no experience with Sonars or Shields, boats from both classes will be on display on Commissioning Day, April 27, 2013. Members are invited to come down to the docks where members of each Fleet will be available to answer questions and, weather permitting, take those interested for a sail.

Below, please find the schedule for the season. Note that the schedule also incorporates certain important “Away” events for both the Shields and Sonar classes for your information. Once again, we hope that you are looking forward to the season as much as we are and hope to see you all out there.
