 On the Water: Ocean Racing
Seawanhaka has a long history of member participation in the discipline of Ocean racing which can loosely be defined as long distance big boat racing in open ocean waters. Ocean racing requires a high degree of boat preparation, crew training and navigational competency in order to compete successfully. It also provides many vistas and challenges rarely encountered in coastal races. Many current members participate in ocean races staged around the world and the Club receives invitations each year to join new races. This page is intended to provide links for interested members to many of the world’s classic ocean races and to also provide a home for specific invitations to compete from other yacht clubs.
